Cherry Lane students participated in Nassau County's tradition of Valentines for Veterans, as a way to say thank you for their sacrifices.

Every year, thousands of valentines are collected from children and distributed to veterans in local hospitals and nursing homes.

Cherry Lane teachers took the time to teach students about the importance of respecting veterans and thanking them for the sacrifices they have made.

In return, all students who participated received a certificate from Nassau County Executive Laura Curran. This experience has been rewarding for both those giving and receiving.
