On March 21, students at Cherry Lane celebrated World Down Syndrome Day in honor of fellow student, Jason. The event, initiated by Down Syndrome International, helps to raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in communities. Participants wore mismatched socks in support of the day. Jason joined his older siblings, Adam and Alyssa, who read “My Friend Has Down Syndrome” to their classmates.
