S.A.D.D. Club Sponsors Grim Reaper Day

On March 21, Carle Place middle and high school students observed Grim Reaper Day, sponsored by the district’s Students Against Destructive Decisions Club and adviser Laura Ryan. More than 20 students dressed in black and wore white face makeup to distinguish themselves as representatives of people who have died as a result of drunk driving. A gong was sounded every 30 minutes to signify another “death.” Once student-actors were pronounced “dead,” they did not speak for the remainder of the day in memory of those who have been lost.
