Student Artists Recognized

On March 27, the Carle Place Board of Education, along with Carle Place Middle/High School Principal Thomas DePaola, Rushmore Avenue School Principal Susan Folkson and Carle Place Middle/High School Fine and Performing Arts Chair Joni Russo, recognized 12 district students for their contributions to the 10th annual All-County Art Exhibition, held at the Ruth S. Harley University Center at Adelphi University earlier this month. The event, run by the Art Supervisors Association, was a prestigious one-day exhibit that showcased more than 1,200 pieces of artwork produced by students in kindergarten through 12th grade in Nassau County.

“All of the artwork created by our students is truly fabulous,” said Russo. “What students can do is amazing.”

High School senior Sabrina Feit was also selected to receive the Senior Art Scholar Award, which recognizes one outstanding art student from each high school.
