The Carle Place Key Club and Student Organization held a schoolwide service learning assembly, during which all ninth- through twelfth-graders attended the Battle of the Classes, Battling for a Cause “pep rally”. Students will be "battling" through competitive games such as relay races, an obstacle course, tug o'war and a skit competition at Battle of the Classes, Battling for a Cause on Feb. 27, 2015, which is supporting the Ty Louis Campbell Foundation this year. Ty Campbell Louis battled a rare and aggressive form of pediatric cancer and the foundation was created in his honor by Ty's parents.

Family member Cindy Campbell spoke at the assembly and stated that Carle Place students have "battled" for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Lexiebean Foundation and the Ronald McDonald house which all assisted her family during Ty's cancer fight.

The organization embraces the simple joys of childhood through their pediatric cancer awareness event known as the Muddy Puddles Project.   Carle Place students will live out Ty's dream of jumping in muddy puddles at their very own "Mess Fest" on Jan. 31, 2015 at 10:00am-12:00pm in the girls gym. Outside guests are also are welcome to attend.  There will also be a dinosaur dig station, relay races, face painting, a looming station and more.
