Students in Mr. Morris' AP Language and Composition class and Mrs. Caliendo’s AP U.S. History class at CPHS took a field trip to New York City. The trip included a tour of the reservoir in Central Park and a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where students enjoyed a viewing of Thomas Hart Benton's America Today. The full room mural, consisting of 10 separate panels, depicts the social, economic, industrial and agricultural concerns of America during the era of the 1920's. Students did preparatory reading and research prior to their visit, which will culminate in project reporting on the social, cultural and historical elements revealed through Benton’s mural.
