After completing a unit on human rights violations and modern terrorism, Ms. Buffalino’s tenth-grade advanced placement students attended a field trip to the September 11 Memorial in New York City. The students felt much pride for the area they live in. Here is what some had to share: “It was heart breaking looking into the north and south pools and not being able to see where it ended, giving you that unsettling feeling in the pit of your stomach.” – Kerry Brosnan; “It’s amazing to see how they built this memorial in honor of everyone and to show that we will never forget that day. 9/11 changed the world and lives of many people. This trip gave me a sense of pride in my country.” Lizzy DaCosta; “The 9/11 memorial is something that every American should experience at least once in their life.” – Sydney Perruzza
