Service Stars


Key Club members from Carle Place High School attended the New York State Key Club Conference in Albany from March 18-21 with their advisor Ms. Buffalino.

At the conference, CPHS’s entire Key Club was recognized by the state for increased membership, perfect paperwork, early bird dues, public relations, being the state Club of the Month in October 2015 and its Diamond Membership Level Club. Their Fundraising through Fashion 2015 event was awarded in the platinum division for a single service event. They were also awarded the highest honor in the state for the highest cumulative fundraising award for having fundraised more than $37,000 from April of 2015 – February of 2016. The club was also awarded the highest honor in the state for excellence in fundraising for its Battle of the Classes and Battling for a Cause, which was co-run with the Student Organization in February of 2016 and generated $20,000 for Tuesday’s Children.

The awards were accepted by conference attendees and Key Club Secretary Pragna Krishnamurthy, Key Club PR Web Manager Savannah Weilert and Key Club members Daniela Posillico, Caroline McLaughlin and Julia Winer.
