Cherry Students with Dr. Seuss Hats on
Students at Cherry Lane celebrated National Read Across America Day and Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2 by participating in a variety of fun and educational activities.

First-graders rehearsed Dr. Seuss-themed Reader’s Theater scripts and performed them for each classroom in the school, and each class created their own Dr. Seuss hat. Students also brought in their favorites books, and second-graders led the school on a parade around the school to music from the “Seussical” musical. All students also took a Reader’s Oath and participated in a silent readathon.

The festivities were designed to promote the importance of reading and to celebrate the life and legacy of an iconic children’s author.
