Business Brilliance
Top students at CPHS have been selected to participate in the fifth annual Nassau County High School Comprtoller’s Business Challenge on April 4 in Mineola. The competition features more than 200 students from various Nassau County high schools who will all be tasked with conceptualizing or developing and bringing to market an app with mass appeal in the fields of healthcare, public safety or homeland security, and then presenting their plan.

Each team will be composed of individuals who will assume leadership roles; Peter Figueroa will be chief executive officer, Preston Monteforte will be vice president of operations, Maria Buffolino will be vice president of finance, Alexandra Docyk will be co-vice president of marketing, Jailene Marin will be co-vice president of marketing, and Ben Armstrong will be general counsel. They will be led by business teacher Toula Tsibidis-Foufas.

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos visited CPHS to meet and congratulate the team on its invitation to compete, wish them luck, and encouraged them to continue reaching new heights.
