Students to Play ‘Flowers for Algernon’

The Carle Place Theater Company will present three performances of “Flowers for Algernon,” scheduled for Friday Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All shows will take place in the Carle Place High School auditorium. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults and free for senior citizens.
          
Students will present the David Rogers adaptation of the Daniel Keyes novel about a laboratory mouse named Algernon who has undergone surgery to increase his intelligence, and the man whose own surgery mirrors that of Algernon’s, and whose life hangs in the balance while waiting and watching for the long terms effects of the surgery on them both.
         
This marks the directorial debut at CPHS for teacher Samuel Plotkin and the first CP production for Chairperson for Fine and Performing Arts Michael Limone, who serves as the producer and technical director. The community is invited to attend and enjoy this performance by our talented thespians!
