Celebrating 100 Days

Cherry Lane School celebrated the 100th day of school on Feb. 13 with a host of fun, educational activities to keep students counting and cognizant of the number 100.

In the school gymnasium, Principal Susan Folkson led a fun, celebratory rally that included physical education teacher Conor Reardon leading students in various exercises, which they performed in sets of 10 leading up to 100. In classrooms, students participated in various mathematical activities centering on the number 100, including counting, graphing and measuring. They also made various creations using 100 parts or objects.

Second-graders in Mary Donnelly’s class counted and sorted coins they earned for doing chores at home. Parents pledged to award each student 100 coins for their hard work, which they in turn are donating to Chris Pendergast’s Ride for Life, which benefits amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research and support.
