Little Doctors Making a Big Impact

The Little Doctors program at Rushmore Avenue School is teaching students valuable life lessons, while helping to save lives.

Sponsored by the New York Blood Center, Little Doctors focuses on volunteerism, community service, the science of blood and the organization of community blood drives. During this year’s Rushmore Student Council blood drive to benefit the blood center, council members greeted donors as they arrived and afterward wrote them thank-you cards. They also learned how one pint of blood can save as many as three lives!

Elizabeth Cottell and Julie Santoro are advisers to the Rushmore Student Council. Great job by all!
