The Carle Place Theater Company will present its rendition of the hit musical “Mamma Mia!” on Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All shows will take place in the Carle Place High School auditorium.

Based on the book by Catherine Johnson and largely from music by the band ABBA, “Mamma Mia!” is set on a small Greek island, where Sophie (played by Devin Eichel) dreams of a perfect wedding – one which includes her father giving her away. The problem? Sophie doesn’t know who he is! Her mother Donna (Sydney Eichel), the former lead singer of the 1970s pop group Donna and the Dynamos, refuses to talk about the past, so Sophie decides to take matters into her own hands. Sneaking a peek in her mother’s old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Bill (Vaughn Kelly), Harry (Nicholas Pascarella) and Sam (James Reardon). She secretly invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she’ll know her father when she sees him. But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she thought!

Samuel Plotkin directs. Michael Limone is the producer and technical director. Jessy Gill choregraphs and Doreen Scardino is the costumer. Jessica Yonker is the musical director, while Matthew Castello and Richard Stein serve as conductor and pit director, respectively.
