Six students from the Carle Place School District were recently recognized at the fifth annual Outstanding Elementary and Middle School Physical Education Awards ceremony held at Roslyn High School. Sponsored by the Nassau Zone of the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, the awards are bestowed upon two students from each elementary and middle school who demonstrate a physically active lifestyle, responsible behavior and leadership, and overall physical education excellence following nomination by their physical education teachers.

Carle Place extends its congratulations to Cherry Lane School second graders Logan Gomes and Tyler Reedy, Rushmore Avenue School sixth graders Stratos Mehalakes and Reese Aguilar, and Carle Place Middle School eighth graders Thomas Venezia and Leila Naraine, all of whom were honored with awards.
