VE Students Swim With the Sharks

VE Students Swim With the Sharks
The Carle Place Business Education Department recently held its second annual Business Olympics. This year’s theme was “Invention and Innovation,” as five Virtual Enterprise teams (each comprised of four to five students) prepared business plan presentations to pitch to a panel of judges in a competition modeled after the popular television show “Shark Tank.”

Student entrepreneurs were asked to develop a new business or business concept that revolves around an invention or original concept. Teams developed startup business plan presentations to convince the “sharks” to invest in their business or business concept. Presenters used Google Slides that addressed market analyses, financial assumption, and marketing and promotion strategies while dressed in business attire during their four-to-six-minute pitches.

Kudos to all of the VE students for their excellent presentations and thanks to all of the judges! Carle Place Middle/High School business teacher and DECA adviser Toula Foufas hosted the event. A networking dinner was held before the competition.
