Cherry Lane Elementary School has kicked off its virtual introductory strings class for second graders. Taught by strings teacher Lora Elsirgany, the online class will run for 15 weeks.
This program will teach students the differences and similarities between violins, ukuleles and guitars. They will engage in hands-on learning using the ukulele, which is a small sized instrument that can easily be managed and tuned by second graders.
This class is designed to be a self-enriching music program, purely for the joy of playing, singing and experiencing music. The goal is to benefit the mindset of the students during these difficult times.
