MS Summer Program

Carle Place Middle School

2019 Summer Program

Carle Place Middle School will be running a middle school Summer Program. Our aim is to provide students with the educational skills necessary for competent mastery of specific learning processes and subject material. Our Summer Program will offer students the opportunity to develop their skills and gain a sense of success.

This year, our program will be housed in the Cherry Lane School building. The program will run for 16 sessions, Monday through Thursday, beginning  Monday, July 8, 2019  and ending Thursday, August 1, 2019.

Our program will be divided into two sessions:

Session 1 - 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Session 2 - 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The Carle Place Middle School Summer Program will address two groups of students:

Group 1 (Summer School) - Students who were unable to pass a major academic course (Math, English, Science, Social Studies) this year. These students and their parents will meet with Mr. Santoro, the MS Counselor, at the conclusion of final exams, to discuss summer school. For these students, attendance is mandatory. Failure to attend summer school will result in repeating the course(s).

Group 2 (AIS) - Students who have been recommended by their teacher(s) based on their year's work, who would benefit from additional academic intervention services over the summer. For these students, a letter will be mailed home "inviting" each student to consider participating in the program. Attendance for these students is optional.

Any questions regarding the Carle Place Middle School AIS Summer Program should be directed to Mr. Katz at 622-6534.
