On May 31, the 2025 New York Statewide Mathematics Tournament took place in Albany, sponsored by First in Math and the New York State Education Department. This prestigious event celebrates academic excellence and advanced problem-solving among students from across the state.
Carle Place was proudly represented by three exceptional regional champions—Nathan Bosi, Madeleine Clancy and Daniel Kubovic—along with their dedicated coach, Mrs. Lorandini. After earning their spot by winning the regional round, the outstanding seventh grade team showcased remarkable perseverance, teamwork and numeracy skills to take first place in the state competition.
A special thank you to Mrs. Lorandini for her support and leadership. In addition to volunteering to accompany the team to Albany, she devoted time before school during “zero” period to help the students prepare in the weeks leading up to the tournament—ensuring they were ready to compete at the highest level.
