Throughout October, students, clubs and athletic teams at Carle Place Middle/High School honored and supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month through a series of meaningful events and activities promoting awareness, compassion and community spirit.
On Oct. 18, the Carle Place volleyball program hosted the third annual “Dig Pink” play date to raise funds for The Side-Out Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer awareness and research. The tournament brought together varsity teams from Carle Place, Garden City, Roslyn, Malverne, New Hyde Park and West Hempstead, as well as junior varsity teams from Kellenberg and Freeport Christian Academy. The event featured spirited competition, outstanding athleticism and a shared commitment to an important cause.
Continuing the month’s efforts, on Oct. 19, members of the Carle Place Key Club joined participants from across Long Island in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. Ahead of the event, the club hosted a “Think Pink” day on Oct. 17, which encouraged students and staff to wear pink in solidarity and to raise awareness and support for those affected by breast cancer.
Through these initiatives, the Carle Place school community demonstrated its dedication to service, teamwork and making a positive difference.
