Students in Ms. Chiarelli-Shay’s ENL class recently completed a “Home Country” project, where they chose parts of their culture to highlight and share with classmates. After presenting their projects, students exchanged positive feedback using peer review forms.
The lesson was a meaningful moment in the classroom as students celebrated their own backgrounds while also learning about and appreciating the cultures of others. Ms. Chiarelli-Shay was proud of her students for giving their first presentations in English and for being kind and supportive of one another.
