On Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, the Carle Place School District hosted its annual Superintendent’s Conference Days, bringing staff together for two days of professional learning, collaboration and preparation ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.

The first day opened with remarks from Board of Education President Dr. Patrick Dunphy, Jr., who highlighted the important partnership between the board of education and district staff in supporting the success of Carle Place students.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ted Cannone then recognized staff members celebrating 20, 25 and 30 years of service to the district. Following the recognition, Dr. Cannone delivered his opening message, outlining district goals and priorities for the upcoming school year.

Throughout the afternoon, staff participated in a variety of professional development sessions, workshops and meetings. The day continued with building and faculty meetings, giving staff an opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and prepare their classrooms and learning spaces for students.

The second day began with a districtwide session focused on the Carle Place Portrait of a Graduate and the skills and qualities the district aims to develop in its students. Staff then participated in sessions tailored to their individual buildings and positions, followed by department and grade-level meetings.

The afternoon provided additional opportunities for professional learning, including department meetings and training focused on instructional resources, programs and workshops specific to different grade levels and subject areas. Staff also used the time to make final preparations in their classrooms and learning spaces before welcoming students.

The Superintendent’s Conference Days provided Carle Place staff with an opportunity to reflect on the district’s priorities, strengthen collaboration and prepare for the year ahead. With the new school year underway, staff are ready to welcome students back and begin another year focused on learning, growth and success.
