On Sept. 17, Nassau County Legislator Viviana Russell visited Carle Place’s Rushmore Avenue School to present a $200,000 grant to support new seating for the school’s auditorium as part of its ongoing renovation.

Legislator Russell was welcomed by the fifth grade chorus before presenting the check to district and building administrators, staff and students. The grant will help support the auditorium’s transformation and enhance the space for students and the broader Carle Place community.

“This generous grant is an investment in our students and in a space that will serve our school community for years to come,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ted Cannone. “We are incredibly grateful to Legislator Russell for her support and for helping us bring this exciting vision for our auditorium to life.”
