On the weekend of Sept. 18, the Carle Place School District came together to celebrate homecoming, bringing students, staff, families and community members together for a series of spirited events. From Spirit Week and the annual pep rally to Friday night’s football game and Saturday’s homecoming dance, the festivities highlighted the enthusiasm and sense of community that make homecoming a special Carle Place tradition. The excitement began throughout the school with Spirit Week, as students and staff showed their school spirit through a variety of themed days. This year’s themes included Monochromatic Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and CP Gear Friday, which led up to Friday night’s USA-themed game. The celebration continued Friday afternoon with the annual pep rally, where each class took the spotlight with skits and performances centered around different decades. Students and teachers also competed in games and activities, and the fall sports teams were introduced, building excitement for the evening’s game. Leading up to the game, families and community members gathered in the homecoming village, where student and parent groups offered food, merchandise and activities for attendees to enjoy. As kickoff approached, excitement continued to build around the stadium as students, families and fans gathered to cheer on the Frogs. Throughout the game, the pep band kept the energy high from the stands. At halftime, students took the field to showcase their creativity and school spirit through class performances and decorations. The varsity cheerleaders followed with an energetic routine before the homecoming court was introduced and Justin Powers and Emi Coronel were crowned homecoming king and queen. The night concluded with a 50-38 victory for the Frogs. The weekend wrapped up with the homecoming dance, giving students another opportunity to celebrate together and create memories with their classmates. “Homecoming is a truly lovely Carle Place tradition because it brings our entire community together, uniting Frogs past and present,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ted Cannone. “The dedication and excitement shown by our students, along with the support of our families, staff, alumni, and community, made this year’s celebration a wonderful reflection of the Carle Place spirit embodied by our great academic, athletics, and arts programs.”
