From Oct. 5-9, Carle Place’s Rushmore Avenue School held its annual Book Fairies book drive. The drive was organized by the school’s library media specialist Mrs. Marni Nelson.

This year, Rushmore broke its previous record by collecting 28 boxes of books for the Book Fairies, a nonprofit organization that support individuals in under-resourced communities across Long Island and New York City by distributing new and gently used books. Fifth graders Millie Gilroy, Thomas Hess, Alivia Stasi and Wexford Tittler helped move the boxes in preparation for pickup.

The district would like to thank everyone who donated and helped make this book drive a success.
