On Sept. 2, the Carle Place School District welcomed students and staff to celebrate the beginning of the 2026–2027 school year. Students returned to classrooms throughout Carle Place Middle/High School, Rushmore Avenue School and Cherry Lane School as the district began a new year focused on academic achievement, personal growth and continued collaboration.

The opening day also reflected the strong relationship between Carle Place Schools and the broader community. Members of the Nassau County Police Department, as well as other community leaders, joined district administrators and staff in welcoming students and helping to mark the start of the new school year.

“We are excited to welcome our students back and begin another year together as a school community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Ted Cannone. “Our students and staff bring so much energy and enthusiasm to Carle Place, and we look forward to a year of meaningful learning, new experiences and continued achievement.”

As the 2026–2027 school year begins, Carle Place Schools remains committed to providing students with meaningful opportunities to learn and grow. The district looks forward to a successful year and to continuing its work with students, families, staff and community partners in support of the school community.
