Carle Place High School has been named a 2025-2026 School of Distinction by the New York State Public School Athletic Association, which recognizes the school for academic achievement across its varsity athletic programs. Carle Place was among 37 Long Island high schools to receive the designation.

To earn School of Distinction status, 100% of a school’s varsity teams must receive the NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team Award. To qualify for the Scholar-Athlete Team Award, the average grade point average of the top 75% of a team’s roster must be at least 90%. A total of 118 schools statewide earned the School of Distinction designation for the 25-26 school year.

The recognition reflects the strong academic culture within Carle Place athletics and celebrates the coaches, teachers, administrators and families who help students succeed across both areas.
