Please note that at the Board of Education meeting to be held this Thursday, Nov. 7, Carle Place Schools will make a public presentation on its opposition to the NYSED Regionalization plan. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. in the high school's Barry Dennis Conference Room.

On Thursday, students at Cherry Lane Elementary School completed Halloween themed math problems while wearing costumes of some of their favorite characters. We hope everyone had a safe and fun time trick-or-treating! 🎃🍬

Today, Cherry Lane students participated in the Harvest Festival! Students had the opportunity to go outside and decorate pumpkins, search for objects in a hay maze, and enjoy other fall themed activities. Thank you to the PTA for a great event!

Thank you to everyone who voted in today’s bond referendum vote. Proposition No. 1 was approved by a vote of 637 yes votes to 439 no votes. Proposition No. 2 was defeated by a vote of 666 no votes to 406 yes votes. We look forward to sharing updates on the progress of the projects included in the first proposition and once again thank our community for its ongoing participation in the district.

On October 23rd, high school students from Italian III, Italian IV, and the chorus had the opportunity to attend a captivating performance of Il Trovatore at the renowned Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. This experience was the culmination of a cross-curricular unit, where students explored both the rich musical composition and the Italian historical context behind one of Giuseppe Verdi’s most beloved operas.

Polls are now open for the district’s bond referendum vote! Polls will be open until 9 p.m. in the Carle Place High School Multipurpose Room. Carle Place High School students participated in another college mini fair led by the guidance department! Twenty schools visited the fair, including Pace University, St. John's University, and the United States Navy. Students had the opportunity to learn more about each school and ask questions to a college representative.

This morning, students and parents at Cherry Lane planted bulbs in the school's Friendship Garden. These kindergarteners had a great time and are looking forward to seeing them bloom in the spring! Today, Carle Place’s high school students had the exciting opportunity to learn more about nine colleges across the United States! Representatives from colleges such as Stony Brook University, University at Buffalo, and Florida Institute of Technology spent this morning explaining the different majors, programs, and career opportunities their schools offer. Students were able to ask questions, gather information about admissions requirements, and explore which school might be the perfect fit for them!

If the bond proposal is approved by residents, work on these improvements will likely begin in July 2025 for the HVAC project and by July 2026 for the Cherry Lane Extension. Final timing depends on factors like state approvals and contractor availability.
